Life Lines 2

Very exited to be exhibiting at ‘Life Lines 2’ this year. This is a collaborative exhibition of figurative works from the Buckden life drawing group which I am part of. I have 4 pieces on show.

If you are local to the area please take time to visit. The exhibition has free entry and is fully catalogued meaning all artworks are for sale. Show runs from 11th Sept to 12th Oct.

Mirrored image

I often experiment with photographing my artwork to create something new. In this image I have combined soft focus and mirroring. I couldn’t title this piece so its left to the viewer to decide their emotional response?

Mixed media

I’ve been experimenting with gold flake additive in my paint with mixed results. It is only visible from certain angles, which is intriguing but also means it not apparently visible at first glance. Does it add to it, I don’t know?

Social Media Collaboration

Sometimes an opportunity arises through social media. I was pleased to be selected to be featured by Lily Lacey-Hastings on her Art Feed.

She is a talented Art Writer/Art lover/Art influencer on Instagram. She has a large (12k) following and her carefully considered posts weave together art from the past with that from the new.

As part of this she wrote a poignant caption for my piece and also featured my favourite/most influential artists either side of my post to add extra context.

Very happy to have been chosen and this was a great collaboration.

Old Granary

The ‘old granary’ at Wells-next-the-Sea harbour is a dominating feature. The granary overhangs the harbour and dates from the early 1900’s This image plays with the geometric structure of the supporting beams.

Norfolk Coast – Summer Break

Summer breaks on the coast are more about relaxing with family and friends.
I still like to pack a basic drawing set in my bag. Caught a few moments at
Wells-Next-The-Sea docks to do a quick sketch. I only had a few colours on me but as you can see this can be enough to capture the scene.

Summers Creativity

As this summer has been one of the hottest on record here in the UK I have been using these 3 hot colours. Cerise pink, orange and yellow. I love the intensity these bring.

Visual treats for your personal spaces

Buying a new artwork is always a heart racing, exciting experience, whether your a collector or novice art lover. Therefore its important to know all the facts and make sure you are happy with the conditions of sale and the quality of your investment.

From my perspective as the artist I am also keen to make sure the experience is as positive and pleasurable as possible.

Geometric Bridges

We build bridges. I live near a major road overhaul. Many structures are emerging from the landscape. some quite imposing.

I have added a few more of my geometric photographs to the gallery..
